At around 9:45 am, the Sensex surged 820.40 points, or 1.06%, to 78,159.41, while the Nifty gained 251.90 points, or 1.07%, to reach 23,705.70. Among the stocks, 2,510 advanced, 499 declined, and 97 remained unchanged.
In an interview with Moneycontrol, Sandip Agarwal, Fund Manager and Co-Founder of Sowilo Investment Managers, noted, “While a recovery may be challenging in the short term, the worst of the correction is likely behind us.” He added, “Investors are concerned about potential tariffs under Donald Trump and their impact on emerging markets. However, with many foreign hedge fund managers booking profits ahead of the new year, the sharp FII selloff appears to be mostly over.”
