L&T has a strong opportunity to secure orders for 4 GW projects from NTPC tenders,” said Subramanian Sarma, L&T’s senior executive vice president (Energy) and whole-time director, during the post-earnings conference call on October 30. This follows reports that L&T has outbid Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) for contracts exceeding Rs 40,000 crore from NTPC.

In August, NTPC invited bulk tenders for three super thermal power projects (STPPs): Gadarwara STPP Stage-II in Madhya Pradesh, Telangana STPP Stage-II, and Nabinagar STPP Stage-II in Bihar. The scope includes design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, construction, erection, testing, and commissioning of the main plant package under a single point responsibility framework.
